CHAPTER THREE RESEARCH METHODOLOGY 3.0 Introduction There are various methods of research which can be implored in carrying out a study. Research method is very important because the use of different methods gives different results. This chapter explains and justifies the materials and the methods used in the research. The selection of method used for the research is based on the research problem, aim and objectives of the study to be achieved. This chapter therefore fully explains the research design; strategies; methods of data collection; data analysis, sampling technique and the target population. This chapter will also show the validity and reliability of the selected method 3.1 Research Methodologies According to Creswell (2009), there are four different methodologies; postpositivism, constructivism, advocacy/participatory and pragmatism. Postpositivism recognises the fact that we cannot be â€Å"positive† when studying human actions and behaviour. We do need to understand the world in which we live and work and develop subjective meanings of our experiences as suggested by social constructivism (often combined with interpretivism). This suggest the researcher looks for the complexity of views through the use of an open-ended questions rather than narrowing meanings into fewer ideas.
